The Cricket
on the Hearth

What is it? (Information from 2025) Charles Dickens wrote several more Christmas tales than that overly famous one featuring old Ebenezer––and The Cricket on the Hearth was actually the most popular of his Yuletide yarns during his lifetime. Now, this charming 1845 novella about a chirping insect, a loving family and a mysterious stranger is brought to vivid life via this heartwarming adaptation by Sarah Rodgers and Naomi Wright, complete with original music and lyrics by Christopher King. A unique opportunity to enjoy an alternative slice of Dickensian Christmas magic, book ahead for a show that's filled like a fruit-packed figgy pudding with warmth, wit, brilliant storytelling and––of course–– a singing cricket!
