Yaletown Holiday Festival
What: Yaletown's annual alfresco Christmas festival is one of the city's best free-entry festive events. Unfortunately, the 2020 event has been cancelled.

Here's what it was like in 2019: Crammed with sugar-plum-hugging seasonal cheer, 2019's family-friendly activities include toe-tapping live music, an artisan street market, horse-drawn carriage rides (by donation) and some super-cool ice-carving demonstrations. New this year, there will also be live swordplay demonstrations. Look out for costumed characters (including prancing gingerbread figures) and don't forget to meet the great man himself, holding court at the North Pole. You won't just be able to snap selfies with Santa, though––the surprisingly jovial Ice Queen will also be on-hand. Finally, fans of the Polar Express should also drop by the Roundhouse Community Centre where Vancouver's version––historic steam engine 374––will be decked out in twinkling holiday lights.
