Christmas Evening

What is it? (Information from 2025) Curious about how 19th-century locals celebrated the festive season? Head to this utterly charming, family-friendly event and you'll soon be stepping back in time to Christmases past. Hosted in the large and beautifully preserved Victorian farmhouse where Surrey's hardworking Stewart family lived for many years, the museum-like property will be fully decorated in festive finery for this event. But your visit isn't just about snapping photos of yesteryear decorations in lovely, antique-lined rooms. You'll also be nibbling on old-fashioned Christmas treats, enjoying live harp music and even meeting Father Christmas himself––the red-robed wonder will be holding court in the adjoining wood-built pole barn. A great event for visitors of all ages, you and your kids will also have the chance to make your own lantern decorations to take home with you. And don't forget to check out the daytime Christmas Weekend Drop-ins, running at Historic Stewart Farm throughout December.
