Festival of Lights, VanDusen Botanical Garden
What: One of Vancouver's most popular Christmas lights displays transforms the city's main botanical garden attraction into a stroll-worthy winter wonderland of one million twinkling lights and smile-triggering festive displays. Wrap up warmly for your weave around the pond-centered gardens or just add an extra mug or three of hot chocolate (sold on site) to keep you warm. Save time for a ride on the traditional carousel (included with admission) and listen out for some toe-tapping live music. Need to thaw out? The alfresco Fireside Lounge is studded with fire pits and you should also nip into the Visitor Centre where Santa will be holding court and posing for selfies. Still need to plug a few gaps on your Christmas shopping list? The VanDusen gift shop has an excellent array of pressie ideas. New for 2019, there will also be a dozen or so indoor and outdoor artisan craft stalls, curated by Portobello West. These will operate from December 16 to 20 (4:30pm to 9pm) and December 21 to 23 (4:30pm to 10pm).
When: November 30, 2019 to January 5, 2020 (4pm to 9:30pm)
