Robson Square
Ice Rink
What: A charming reminder of what every small-town Canadian used to do at Christmastime, the subterranean space next to the Vancouver Art Gallery entrance is transformed into a bustling little ice rink every winter––a perfect family-friendly activity if you have kids you need to tire out before bedtime. If you have your own skates, use of the rink is free (arrive off-peak to avoid the crowds). If not, skates can be rented ($5; helmet included). There will also be free live entertainment on many afternoons and evenings throughout the holiday season.
