Lights at Lafarge

What: Metro Vancouver's biggest best free-entry Christmas illuminations has unfortunately been cancelled in 2020.

Here's what it was like in 2019: Every year, the tree-lined 1.2km pathway around Lafarge Lake is transformed into a multi-hued, light-speckled promenade, inviting leisurely strolls with festive-minded locals and visitors (who often arrive via the nearby SkyTrain line station). Explore the different themed areas among the shimmering displays and plan your visits for the various special evenings (last year, that including caroling, craft workshops and free hot chocolate nights). Alternatively, make a party of it by dropping by for the grand November 30 Opening Night, complete with buskers, entertainment, food trucks and more. And if you're already planning your New Year's Eve, the illuminations will be on full display here until past midnight.
