A French Baroque Christmas
with
Ensemble Correspondances

Advert for A French Baroque Christmas concert, presented by EMV at the Chan Centre for Performing Arts in Vancouver.

What is it? Presented by Early Music Vancouver, book ahead for this special one-show-only Chan Centre performance by Lyon-based Ensemble Correspondances. Directed by renowned organist and harpsichordist Sébastien Daucé and featuring guest soloists Caroline Weynants, Lucile Richardot, Richard Pittsinger and Lysandre Châlon, you'll be treated to a truly transportive performance of Marc-Antoine Charpentier's 1694-composed 'Midnight Mass.' Based on simple, traditional and often familiar French Noëls, this is a delightful way to ease yourself into the 2026 festive season. And if you haven't encountered Ensemble Correspondances before, this is a rare opportunity to catch the celebrated singers and instrumentalists who have specialized in performing 17th-century French repertory works since 2009. Want to learn more about the music? We highly recommend arriving early for the concert's pre-show chat.
