Santa is Here!

Britannia Mine Museum

What: Who knew that Santa's preferred mode of transport isn't actually a sleigh? For this ever-popular family-friendly event, the Jolly Old Elf arrives by helicopter (be here at 11am to see him touch down) for a magical afternoon hanging out with all the kids who've dropped by to see him. He'll be holding court in the gift shop for photos -- alongside a twinkle-eyed Mrs Claus -- and there will also be craft activities and Christmas displays to check out. Don't be surprised to see real snow on the ground as well as on the surrounding mountain peaks -- and be sure add something special to your visit: a ride on the the mine museum's underground train (tickets extra). Need an extra treat? Admission also includes free hot chocolate and roast chestnuts.

When: December 16

Where: Britannia Mine Museum, Highway 99, Britannia Beach (10 minutes before Squamish if driving from Vancouver)

Cost: $15 (photo included) - children 4 and under are free and the first 50 children through the door are also free
