Heritage Holidays at the Fort
What: Traditional music and treats turn this National Historic Site into an evocative, candle-flickering reminder of what yesteryear Canadian Christmases used to be like. Wrap up warmly to explore the buildings and make sure you have a mug of something hot to stave off the Yuletide chill––fire-roasted chestnuts are also available. Quiz the costumed interpreters about what the holiday season was all about back in the day (you'll hear that there were few of the extravagances we take for granted now) and save some camera-card space for photos around the Christmas tree. Want to learn more? Time your visit for a guided tour.
When: December 21 to 23 and December 27 to 30, 2019
Where: 23433 Mavis Avenue, Fort Langley
Cost: Adults $7.80, seniors $6.55, youths free
Extra: If you really want to immerse yourself in the Yuletide spirit, drop by from 6pm on December 14 for Christmas by Candlelight, a family-friendly party evening of carols, live music, hot chocolate and costumed tours. Tickets for this special event are adults $18.60, seniors $17.30, youths $10.80.
