Metro Theatre:

A Christmas Carol

Radio Play

What: In place of the Metro's annual pantomime, this year's intriguing festive season production brings the beloved Charles Dickens Christmas classic to this hidden gem theatre. But there's a twist: instead of the traditional staging of the Victorian Yuletide yarn, the Metro players are presenting the show as if it's a live 1940s radio broadcast. Written for the stage by Erik Chow, this charming, innovative interpretation deploys a handful of actors plus the radio show shenanigans of live sound effects and musical tracks. Expect all your favourite Carol characters––Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, all the ghosts and more––plus a heartwarming production that feels toastier than a chestnut on an open fire.
